Amarnath Yatra is a sacred place for Hindus and it is one of the most ardous journey undertaken by the Hindu pilgrims. Amarnath has a natural shivilng made of ice situated in the Himalayas. The journey to Amarnath is undertaken by the people of all the ages. The journey takes around 15 days from Delhi and it starts in the month of August. The travelling is done I parts such as a part of the journey is covered by train, the other part of the journey is covered by foot and riding on animals.
While returning back to home from the pilgrimage, it is very often that the pilgrims will bring the Prasad to distribute among the people.


Note:
During the Amarnath Yatra journey the security forces have to protect the pilgrims from the attacks from the terrorists. The pilgrims carry offerings to the pilgrimage. They offer their prayers after they take a bath, which they start on the return journey.
