Hint:The human heart is a muscular organ that pumps blood across the body, situated in the thoracic cavity between the lungs. Three layers of tissue, the thin outer epicardium, the dense middle myocardium, and the very thin inner endocardium form the wall of the heart.

Complete answer
To answer this question, we have to understand the layers of tissue present in the heart. The wall present between the membranes covering the heart is called pericardium.

It is a thin walled double membrane that envelops the heart and proximal large arteries, a serous inner visceral layer called the epicardium in contact with the myocardium and an outer parietal layer composed of layers of collagen fibrils and elastin fibers, both of which enclose the pericardial fluid between two coatings in order to minimize pressure for the heart to function smoothly. Across both the visceral and parietal pericardium, fluid is filtered into the pericardial space. The parietal and visceral pericardial form the serous pericardium combined.

Pericardium plays an essential role as it keeps our heart inside the chest cavity fixed in place. It stops the heart from stretching and overfilling too much with blood, and lubricates the heart as it beats to avoid contact with the tissues around it.

Note:Pericardial fluid secreted by the serous membranes usually separates just 10 to 15 ml (0.6 to 0.9 cubic inch) of the two layers of serous membranes. The pericardial cavity is named as the slight space produced by the split.
