Hint: The first logical study of types of soil was finished by Vasily Dokuchaev. In India, the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) has ordered soils into 8 classes. Alluvial Soil, Black Cotton Soil, Red Soil, Laterite Soil, Mountainous or Forest Soils, Arid or Desert Soil, Saline and Alkaline Soil, Peaty, and Marshy Soil are the classifications of Indian Soil.

Complete answer:
Black soil is popularly known as “cotton soil” and universally it is known as 'Tropical Chernozems'. This is the third most widely distributed soil variety in India. This soil is shaped from rocks of cretaceous magma. The distribution of this soil stretches over Gujarat, Maharashtra, Western parts of Madhya Pradesh, North-Western Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka. It is also found in Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand up to Raj Mahal slopes. It is rich in iron, lime, calcium, potash, magnesium, and aluminum. It has a high water-holding limit and is useful for cotton farming, Tobacco, citrus natural products, castor, and linseed. Black soil is the sort of soil that is dark in shading because of the presence of huge amounts of humus in it. It is called a cotton crop since it is useful for the cultivation of the cotton crop. Black soils are subsidiaries of trap magma and are spread. These are generally clayey in texture and from profound cracks during dry seasons.

Thus, option (B) is correct.

Note: The alluvial soil is found chiefly in the Satluj-Ganga-Brahmaputra Plains. They are also spread across the fertile valleys of the Narmada, Tapi, and the Eastern and Western coastal plains. This soil has a phosphorous insufficiency. The shade of soil differs from light dim to debris. This soil is appropriate for Rice, maize, wheat, sugarcane, oilseeds, and so on.
