The cell cycle after the long interphase cell enters into the mitotic division phase. The M phase of Cell division phase is divided into 4 sub phases, Prophase, Metaphase, Anaphase and Telophase.
Prophase is the very first stage of cell division during which the genetic material begins to condense to form Chromosomes. Each chromosome consists of a sister chromatid which is joined with centromere. The nuclear envelope breaks down at this stage. This stage is followed by Metaphase.
