Hint:
The Radcliffe line was named after its Architect, Sir Cyril Radcliffe, as the Joint Chairman of the two boundary delegates of the two provinces, received the accountability to objectively Divide175000 square miles of territory.

Complete step by step solution:
The frontier line was established on 17 August 1947 upon the Partition of India. Today its western side still avails as the Indo-Pakistani border and the eastern side covers as the India-Bangladesh border.

Events that lead to the Radcliffe Boundary Commissions:

1) On 15 July 1947, the Indian Independence Act 1947 of the Parliament of the United Kingdom prescribed that British rule in India would cease just one month later, on 15 August 1947.
2) The Act also specified the partition of the chairmanships and counties of British India into two new sovereign authorities: India and Pakistan.
3) The Indian Independence Act, endorsed by the British parliament, forsake the sovereignty of the British Power over the princely states and annulled the Indian Empire, and the kings of the states were advised to adhere to one of the new commands.
4) The council was ordered to "demarcate the boundaries of the two parts of the Punjab on the basis of ascertaining the contiguous majority areas of Muslims and non-Muslims. In doing so, it will also take into account other factors”.
5) After reaching India on 8 July 1947, Radcliffe was given just 35 days to decide on a border. He soon met with his fellow college alumnus Mountbatten and travelled to Lahore and Calcutta to meet with council members, chief Nehru from the Congress and Jinnah, president of the Muslim League.
6) The verdict was finalized just a couple of days before the withdrawal, but due to political gambit, It was not published until 17 August 1947, two days after the grant of independence to India and Pakistan.

Note:
Each frontier commission consisted of five people – a chairman (Radcliffe), two members designated by the Indian National Congress and two members appointed by the Muslim League. The Bengal Boundary Commission consisted of justices C. C. Biswas, B. K. Mukherji, Abu Saleh Mohamed Akram and S.A.Rahman.
