Hint- Mumbai’s Gowalia Tank Maidan that is also popularly known as August Kranti Maidan is the place where the quit India movement was launched by The Father Of the Nation.

Complete answer:
The Quit India Movement was officially launched by the Indian National Congress (INC) and it was led by Mahatma Gandhi on the date of 9 August 1942. The movement gave the slogans highlighting ‘Quit India’ or ‘Bharat Chodo’.
Whereas Mahatma Gandhi gave the slogan to the people that said ‘Do or die’.
Referring to the ideology of the Congress, this movement was supposed to be a peaceful and non-violent movement that aimed at prompting the British to grant India it's independence. Congress Working Committee had passed The Quit India Resolution on the date of 8 August 1942 in Bombay. Gandhi was known as the movement’s leader.
The result of this movement was that Congress was declared as an unlawful association and its offices in the entire country were raided. The leaders were arrested and there rose a chaotic moment due to this incident.

Thus, option C is the right answer.

Note-
Despite the government's heavy-handed suppression, the people were not surprised and continued their struggle. Even though the government said that independence could be granted only after the war's end. The movement drove home the fact that India could not be governed without Indians support. The movement also placed the demand for complete independence at the top agenda of the freedom movement. Public morale as well as anti-British sentiment were enhanced.
