Hint: In this question we will come to know about what lubricant is and its properties, then we will answer the question accordingly. Lubricants are substances applied on huge machines in factories to reduce the friction between two objects which are in direct contact with each other. Lubricants are usually liquid or semi solid in nature, but they can also be found in solid and gaseous form as well in limited cases.

Complete answer:
The proper use of lubricants cannot reduce inertia as inertia depends upon the mass of an object and mass of an object cannot change.
Law of inertia, also called Newton's first law, postulates in physics that, if a body is at rest or moving at a constant speed in a straight line, it will remain at rest or keep moving in a straight line at constant speed unless it is acted upon by a force.
All the substances are rough, even the smoothest of the surfaces are rough when seen at a microscopic or an atomic level. When two rough surfaces slide against each other the asperities of the surfaces come close to each other and interlock, adhere and generate friction. The goal of any lubrication approach is to separate the rubbing surfaces by a lubricant layer, which prevents or minimizes direct contact of the two bodies. Hence, lubricants can be defined as substances used to control, and mostly to reduce friction or wear and tear of the surfaces in a contact of the bodies in relative motion. Lubricants can be solid, liquid or gaseous in nature.
So, from the above explanations we can conclude that the inertia can not be reduced with the use of lubricants.
Hence, the correct option is option (A).

Note:
Inertia is the resistance of any physical object to any change in its velocity. This includes changes to the object's speed, or direction of motion. An aspect of this property is the tendency of objects to keep moving in a straight line at a constant speed, when no forces act upon them.
