Hint: Milk is generally termed as a mixture and we know that mixture contains two or more components and these components may be of liquid, solid or gas. Mixtures can be homogeneous or heterogeneous in nature. It depends upon the concentration of the ions present in them.

Complete answer:
Homogeneous mixtures are those mixtures in which components are uniformly mixed with each other whereas heterogeneous is that in which mixtures are distributed or we can say mixed non uniformly is known as homogeneous mixture.
Binary mixtures which contain solid and liquid can be separated by physical methods. Others can be separated by some other processes like distillation, neutralization, centrifugation etc. The separation is based on the solubility of acidic/basic solution. In this type of separation only one component of mixture is collected which is pure in nature.
However the process by which we separate cream from milk is known as demulsification which involves the breaking of an emulsion into two separate liquid layers and this process can be achieved by centrifugation. So we can also say that the process of separating cream from milk is centrifugation.
An emulsion can be defined as a mixture of two or more liquids that are normally immiscible with each other where the term immiscible means unmixable substances i.e. those which make different layers of solution like the layer of oil on water.

Note:
Emulsion contains both a dispersed and a continuous phase having the boundary between the phases known as the interface. Emulsions tend to have a cloudy appearance because of interference of many phases which scatter light when passing through the emulsion.
