The Prime Minister is the senior most member of cabinet in the executive of government in a Parliamentary form of Government. The Union Cabinet is headed by him and the Prime Minister is appointed by the President of India.

The prime minister has to maintain majority of members in lok sabha and shall resign if he is not able to gain majority now moving further we will discuss the powers exercised by the Prime Minister. members of Lok Sabha constitute a member elected by universal adult franchise if one party gets the majority then the leader of parties elected as prime Minister.certain constraints are imposed due to formation of coalition government on the power of the Prime Minister.
