Hint: Planets do not produce light and they are smaller than stars. Planets are usually in the shape of a spheroid. The objects that orbit the planets are called Satellites.
Complete answer:
With the discovery of twenty new moons in Saturn, Saturn overtakes Jupiter's position as the planet having the highest number of satellites. Earlier, it was Jupiter that had the highest number of satellites of 79.
But still, Jupiter has the biggest moon. While the 20 new moons of Saturn are minuscule which is hardly 5 km in diameter.
Out of the twenty new moons of Saturn, Seventeen orbits the planet in the opposite direction, and the remaining three circles in the same direction as that of Saturn. It takes two to three years for them to complete a single orbit as they are very far from Saturn.
The research is still going on to find out whether any other planet beyond the solar system is having more number of satellites. But till now, Saturn is the planet which has the highest number of satellites.
Note: 1. The Solar System consists of the Sun which is surrounded by planets, asteroids, and comets in orbit. In the solar system, most planets have a moon in orbit around them.
2. Venus is the hottest planet in the solar system and is sometimes also called Earth’s sister due to their similar mass, size, bulk composition. And at the same time, it is the most dangerous planet.
3. Mars is considered as the brother of the Earth.
