Hint: The Pitakas are the three teachings taught by Lord Buddha to his followers. They are the set of three Pitakas which are known as 'Tripitaka'. It is a traditional Sanskrit word which stands for 'Three Baskets'.

Complete answer:
Gautam Buddha was born and brought up in Lumini in around 563 BC. His original name was Siddhartha Gautama. His father Suddhodana was the great king so he lived a very lavish life but after the realisation of truth, he left all the worldly possessions and became a monk. He is also the architect of the Buddhism religion which today is dissipated in all over the world.

The Tripitakas was composed by Lord Buddha in around 550 BC. Following are the three Tripitakas:
i) The Vinaya Pitaka: It is the set of certain rules and regulations which consist of the moral ethics, dress code and the diet Buddhism has to follow, prohibition of smoking, alcohol and other products which is against their code of conduct.
ii) The Sutta Pitaka: It includes all the doctrinal teachings that are laid down by Gautam Buddha. It was rehearsed in the meeting of the first Buddhist Council.
iii) Abhidhamma: It is the reason and the psychological examination of Buddhist doctrine.

Hence, the correct answer is option (A).

Note: Lord Buddha's birthday is honoured by the people of Buddhism religion every year as 'Buddha Purnima'. The Tripitakas were gathered and wrote down during the domination of King Walagambahu. The Sutta Pitaka was written before the Vinayaka Pitaka and that is why it is also considered older than the later.
