The mewar region was ruled Guhlia dynasty, with Chittor as its capital. With a huge armed force, Alauddin began his march toward Mewar from Delhi in January in the fourteenth century. As he reached closer to the fort, his army set up a camp so that they could seize Chittor fort from all the sides. The fight to capture the fort went on for around eight months. Finally, in August Khilji managed to enter the fort. After his Triumph over Chittor, ordered the overall slaughter of the population.
After the victory, Alauddin decided to hand over Chittor to his son Khizr Khan who was only a kid at that time. They renamed that fort Khizrabad, in the honour of the prince. Since the prince was too young to actually rule, a slave named Malik Shahin actually headed the administration, later he left the administration and fled the fort. Later, Alauddin had put a hindu ruler in charge of administration, as he thought it to be the ebay option since ruling Mewar from Delhi was very problematic. Alauddin then transferred the governing powers from his son Khizr Khan to the Chahamana Chief Maladev, this decision was applauded by the public of Chittor.

Hence, the correct answer is option (C).

Note: Alauddin battle for Chittor has also been mentioned in the poem Padmavat by Malik Muhammad Jayasi. For his accomplishments as a ruler, his followers and his community gave him the title of Second Alexander or Sikander-i-Saini.
