Hint: Frog in an amphibian who lives on land as well as in water.

Complete Answer:
Life evolved from water to land and the organism shows adaptation accordingly. The evolution of the heart is also an example of evolution. Fish have two chambers in the heart one atrium and one ventricle. Since fishes live in water and have gills , the blood is purified at the surface of the gills. Fishes show an open circulatory system.
Amphibian and few replicates live on land as well as in water. The development in the heart was from two chambers to three chambers. Frogs have three chambered hearts with two atriums and one ventricle. The blood from body organs enters to the ventricle via right and left atrium and leaves the heart via ventricle. Since the body size of the frog is very small the metabolism is very slow therefore they need more oxygen. Deoxygenated and oxygenated blood mix the ventricle of the heart.
Four chambered hearts is the adaptation of aves and mammals. Left side of the heart carries oxygenated blood which is circulated to the rest of the body from the heart whereas the right side of the heart contains deoxygenated blood which travels from heart to lungs for purification. Deoxygenated and oxygenated blood never gets mixed in four chambered heart organisms. This helps them to meet the oxygen demand of the large body and high metabolic activities.

The correct answer is, “C”.

Note: Frog do have a closed circulatory system although they live both on land as well as in water.
