The Kshaharata Dynasty is a part of the Kshatrapas Dynasty which was founded by the king Chastana in about 78 A.D. It has its ruling boundaries to most of the Western part of the country. Nahapana was the ruler of the Kshaharata dynasty and the son of Bhumaka. He ruled for about 41-46 years of his life.
Nahapana was defeated by the Gautami Putra Satakarni and he soon formed his empire which was known as the Satavahana Dynasty. He had increased the size of his army and trained his soldiers very professionally and made them so strong to compete with the Saka rulers. The empire of Gautami Putra Satakarni was extended to many territories. His region includes Asmaka in the Godavari Basin, Suratha, Aparanta, also the land of Anupa which is situated on the bank of river Narmada and to many other regions. In a nutshell, he has extended the territories of Satavahana Dynasty from Kathiawad in North side and up to Krishna River in the South. From western side, it was expanded up to the Konkan and till Berar on the east side.
