The indian constitution was enforced on 26 january, 1950. B. R. Ambedkar was the chairman of the drafting committee. It took 2 years, 11 months and 18 days to complete the constitution. The constituent assembly met for the first time on 9 december, 1946.The final draft was ready on 26 november 1949, but on 26 january 1950, it was legally enforced.
