Hint: Teeth (singular tooth) are the hardest structures in the human body. They are present in the oral cavity or mouth. The incisor tooth is a wedge tooth (which is sharp) adults have 4 incisors each jaw.

Complete answer:
• Teeth first start erupting at the age of 6 to 12 months. The process of teeth eruption is completed by 2 to 3 years of age. These initial teeth which erupt in infancy are known as primary teeth. Primary teeth are known by different names like milk teeth, baby teeth, deciduous teeth and temporary teeth. Primary teeth remain till the age of about 10 to 12 years, after which they fall out and are replaced by permanent teeth.
• Permanent teeth are larger in size than primary teeth. An adult person can have 28 to 32 permanent teeth, while the number of primary teeth is usually about 20.
• An adult person has four types of teeth – incisors (central and lateral incisors), canines, premolars and molars (first, second and third molars).
• Incisors are 8 in numbers. Their main function is biting and cutting the food.
• Canines or cuspids are 4 in numbers. They are pointed teeth that are located on either side of incisors. They are used for tearing the food.
• Premolars or bicuspids are 8 in numbers, while molars are 12 in numbers. Premolars and molars are located on either side of canines. They are used for grinding, crushing and chewing the food.

Hence, the correct answer is option (A).

Note: Human teeth have total 8 incisors, 4 in each jaw. Incisors are divided into central incisors and lateral incisors. Central incisors are the central 2 teeth present in each jaw. Thus, there are a total of 4 central incisors. Lateral incisors are found on either side of central incisors. They are 4 in numbers, two in each jaw.
