Complete answer:
The Andaman and Nicobar Islands is a group of small islands found in the Bay of Bengal and the Andaman Sea. The archipelago is formed collectively of two groups called Andaman Islands and Nicobar Islands. The Andaman Islands comprise of nearly 300 islands, of which Great Andaman is the main island group. It includes the North, Middle, and South Andaman. The other islands are Landfall Island, Interview Island, the Sentinel Islands, Ritchie’s Archipelago, etc. They are populated with palm trees and tropical rainforests and support a diverse flora and fauna. They have white-sand beaches and are bordered with mangroves and coral reefs that support rich marine life.
The remote islands are inhabited by indigenous tribes of Andaman. Little Andaman in the south is away from the Nicobar Islands. The Nicobar Islands consist of 19 islands of which Car Nicobar in the north is the most prominent island. It consists of Camorta, Katchall, and Nancowry in the centre and Great Nicobar in the south.

Hence, the correct answer is option (B).

Note:The Andamans were invaded by the English East India Company in 1789. They were officially linked to the Nicobar Islands by British in 1872. In 1956, these groups of islands were designated as union territory of the Republic of India. Port Blair is the official capital city of these islands. Lakshadweep is another Union territory of India which lies in the Arabian Sea.
