Hint: The French and the Indian war has also been referred to as the seven year war. It can be considered as a new world battle which is a part of the long adversary between the empires of Great Britain and France. France's venture into the Ohio River valley carried rehashed strife with the capturing of British territories, a progression of fights from the British prompted the official declaration of the war.

Complete answer:
In early 1750’s ,to have a significant base France had established Fort Duquesne where two rivers Allegheny and Monongahela met to form another river called Ohio, it is currently in Pittsburgh. This base faced the brutal attack of the British multiple times.
Even Though they were attacked by the British multiple times, yet still they managed to gain victories between 1754 and 1755. The French had defeated General Edward Braddock, Governor of Massachusetts William Shirley and a young George Washington.
The tables turned finally for the British in 1757 when the new British chief William Pitt, saw colonial clashes as the way to building a tremendous British reign. He paid Prussia to battle in Europe and repaid the settlements for bringing troops up in North America.
In February 1763, the Treaty of Paris was signed which marked the end of the French Indian war. As a result the British got Canada from France but allowed France to have the West Indies sugar islands.

Hence, the correct answer is option (A).

Note:After the war the Americans no longer lived in the fear of the British and even doubted their strength since they almost lost the war to France. Also there was a lot of bitterness between Americans and the British since the latter tried to gain more territory and started charging more tax. This might have sown the seeds of American revolution.
