Factory is the group of buildings where goods and products are manufactured in large quantities. A building where on $10$ or more persons are engaged if power is used or, $20$ or more persons are engaged if power is not used in a manufacturing process [section $2$ (m)]. In India the first Factories Act was enacted in $1881$ year. Following this Act, Factory commission was furnished in the year $1885$ . It is applicable for only those factories, which employed $100$ or more workers. Regarded as one of the Noble and a Comprehensive Labour Legislation, which is inforce in our country. The Factories Act, $1948$ came into force on $1949$ and spread to the whole India.

It covers all aspects regarding to workers employed in factories:

2. Regulates- working hour
3. Ensures- annual leave with payments
4. Provides- additional production to women, workmen, prohibition of children.
