Respiration in plants is a process in which the chemical energy is produced in the form ATP molecule. This process takes place by the oxidation of simple sugar i.e., glucose which is formed in cells due to the breakdown of more complex carbohydrates. Note: Another type of respiration is known as Anaerobic Respiration. In this process, respiration takes place with the absence of oxygen in which the chemical bonds in glucose are partially broken to obtain less energy and Carbon dioxide.
