Hint: Each physical quantity tells us about the physical property of an object or it gives the relation between the basic quantities that is mass of an object or length of an object. Density is also a physical quantity which we will discuss here by using its formula. Along with that we can discuss its units.

Formula used:
\[\text{density=}\dfrac{\text{mass}}{\text{volume}}\]

Complete answer:
Density is a physical quantity which is defined as mass per unit volume. It gives us a relation between the mass and the volume. Mass is the physical property of an object or we can also say that it is the ability of an object to resist the acceleration when force is applied on it whereas volume is the amount of space occupied by a three dimensional body such as cube, cuboid, sphere etc.
SI unit of density is \[kg{{m}^{-3}}\]. Density is denoted by symbol d or ρ.
So basically \[8gc{{m}^{-3}}\] density means 8 grams of mass of brass is associated with unit volume of \[1c{{m}^{3}}\] or we can say \[1c{{m}^{3}}\] volume of brass has a mass of 8 grams.

Additional information:
Density of an object varies with respect to pressure and temperature. As pressure increases, volume decreases resulting in an increase in density. When temperature is increased, volume increases and density decreases.

Note:
Mass and weight of an object are two different things. Mass is a physical property of an object which we discussed whereas weight is the gravitational pull experienced by an object due to its mass. Also weight is measured in Newton whereas mass is measured in kilograms. The mass of an object remains the same irrespective of its interaction with the other objects whereas weight will vary.
