Hint: Battle of Plassey is an important turning point in the history of India that resulted in the consolidation of the British rule in India. This battle took place when the Mughal emperor Alamgir-II was ruling the empire. It was fought between the East India Company and the Nawab of Bengal and his French Troop.

Complete step by step answer:
This battle of Plassey was fought on the banks of the Bhagirathi river at Palashi, near Calcutta. The battle was fought on June 23, 1757, between Siraj-Ud-Daulah the Nawab of Bengal, and the East India Company headed by Robert Clive. This battle is also termed as the ‘decisive event’ which was the main reason for ultimate British rule in India. The continuous misuse of privileges and non-payment of duty and taxes by East India Company’s officials exasperated Siraj. The rampant misconduct by the East India Company against Siraj-Ud-Daulah led to the battle of Plassey. One of the reasons Nawabs lost the battle was a failure to protect their weapons during the heavy downpour.
So, the correct answer is Option C.

Note: Robert Clive with 3,000 soldiers defeated Siraj-Ud-Daulah’s soldiers with 50,000 army, 10 war elephants and 40 cannons. The battle was over within 11 hours. According to Robert Clive, 50 were injured and 22 men died from his army while Siraj-Ud-Daulah’s army lost about 500 soldiers, along with many chief officials, and a lot of them even had several casualties. The Battle of Plassey is known to be historically famous; it was the main source of the event which led to British rule in India.
