Four methods for judicious use of energy are:
(a) Fossil fuels such as coal, petroleum, and natural gas should be used only when no other alternative source of energy is available because fossil fuels are exhaustible resources and they release a lot of greenhouse gases.
(b) Energy wastage should be avoided i.e., energy consumption devices should be managed and maintained properly.
(c) Efforts must be made to use energy for the benefit of the community or group. Example - One can use LED holiday lights for interior and exterior.
(d) Tree cutting must be prohibited, and a greater number of trees should be planted because trees are the oxygen suppliers and they act as the stabilizers of the planet’s ecosystem.

Note: If we use our energy judiciously, then we will not face the shortage of these resources in the future. This is also known as Sustainable development. It will conserve and protect the environment and will reduce the depletion of energy.
