In the question, we are given a couple of simultaneous linear equations in two variables.
$y = 2x + 3$
$y = 3x + 1$
In the substitution method, we substitute the value of one variable from an equation into another equation so as to get an equation in only one variable.
Now putting the value of y obtained from one variable into another. So, we equate the values of y from both the equations.
So, we get, $3x + 1 = 2x + 3$
Shifting all the terms consisting x to the left side of the equation and all the constants to the right side of the equation, we get,
$ \Rightarrow 3x - 2x = 3 - 1$
$ \Rightarrow x = 2$
So, value of x is $2$
Putting the value of x in any of the two equations, we get,
$y = 2x + 3$
$ \Rightarrow y = 2\left( 2 \right) + 3$
$ \Rightarrow y = 7$

Therefore ,solution of the simultaneous linear equations $y = 2x + 3$ and $y = 3x + 1$ is $x = 2$ and $y = 7$
