Given that $\dfrac{4}{3} - \dfrac{1}{2}$. Now make use of the cross-multiplication method, we have $\dfrac{4}{3} - \dfrac{1}{2} \Rightarrow \dfrac{{(2 \times 4) - 3}}{{3 \times 2}}$
Now by the multiplication operation, $2 \times 4 = 8$ and also $3 \times 2 = 6$
Hence substitute the values, then we get $\dfrac{4}{3} - \dfrac{1}{2} = \dfrac{{(2 \times 4) - 3}}{{3 \times 2}} \Rightarrow \dfrac{{8 - 3}}{6}$
Now by the subtraction operation, $8 - 3 = 5$ and hence we get $\dfrac{4}{3} - \dfrac{1}{2} = \dfrac{{(2 \times 4) - 3}}{{3 \times 2}} \Rightarrow \dfrac{{8 - 3}}{6} \Rightarrow \dfrac{5}{6}$
