Complete answer:The Simon Commission was a group of 7 MPs belonging to Britain who came to India in 1928. The original name of the commission was The Indian Statutory Commission but later it was given the name of its chairman, Sir John Simon. It was established to enquire into the working of the government of India Act 1919 and to suggest further reforms in the system of administration.
The actual problem occurred when the Indians got to know that the commission included only Britishers and not even a single Indian unlike promised earlier. Indians found this as an insult. Lord Birkenhead was responsible for the set up of the commission. The famous slogan of Indians in Simon Commission was of ‘Simon Go Back’ given by Yusuf Meherally.
