It was Sultan Muhammad bin Tughlaq's rule and he was envied by the Great Sufi Saint Nizamuddin (May Allah Almighty Allah be pleased with him The reason for his envy was that Hazrat Nizamuddin was too common with people regardless of their religion. Another reasoning was that Hazrat Nizamuddin used the best menu to organize food for everyone every day. Though Hazrat Nizamuddin used to practice fasting, only dry bread and water, and consume vegetarian food.
When King Tughlaq came back from Deva Giri to Delhi after he had robbed the treasure there. He sent Hazrat Nizamuddin a message to leave Delhi prior to his arrival. Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia told his disciple when the message had been sent to him; write on the letter;
In Persian, "Hunooz Dilli Door Ast" and it means "Delhi is still far away"
He was welcomed by his successor Alagh Khan when King Tughlaq arrived near Delhi, who erected a grand pavilion outside the Delhi Fort, where King and his bodyguards could join it riding on their elephants to celebrate the victory.
When King Tughlaq and his men entered the pavilion, it is said that the main central pole of the great pavilion tent gave up, and it fell on the King, and he, along with his commanders, died instantly. So it was Hazrat Nizamuddin's curse upon the king.
