Hint: Sacculus rotundus is a dilated part present in the rabbit which helps in digestion and provides immunity.

Complete answer:
This dilated part is named as Sacculus rotundus which is located at the terminal end of the ileum of the rabbit. It is formed at the distal end of ileum which is expanded further to form a small and spherical sac. It is rich in lymphoid tissue. It provides immunity to the rabbit. Here the Ileum is a part of the small intestine.Small intestine is 4-4.5 kg in an adult rabbit and 2.5-3 kg in a semi-adult rabbit. It contains Peyer’s patches and lymphoid nodules. The function of the ileum is to absorb nutrients.

Additional information
>The Oesophagus is a muscular tube which carries food from pharynx to stomach.
>Ilium is the largest part of the hip bone and present in vertebrates.
>Colon is the part of the large intestine and helps in reabsorbing fluids. It prepares the waste for its elimination.

Note:The small intestine is 12% of the gastrointestinal volume in the rabbit. The sacculus rotundus is spherical thick walled enlargement. It is also known as “cecal tonsil” because of its lymphoid tissue and macrophage composition. This organ is only present in the rabbits.
