Hint: The full form of rRNA is ribosomal RNA. The RNA stands for ribonucleic acid and it is divided into many types. All the different types of RNA help in the transcription of DNA and its translation into the proteins.

We all know that the RNA is a type of genetic material found in many species of organisms. Also, when the DNA is translated into the protein then RNA is a middle point of the conversion. The DNA is first transcribed into RNA and converts from double strand to the single strand. After the transcription it is the RNA which gets translated into the protein sequences and gives us the proteins. The nucleotide bases present in the RNA codes for different sets of proteins. There are various types of RNA which can be either coding for the protein sequences or they do not code for the protein sequences.
One of the various types of RNA found is the Ribosomal RNA. This type of RNA does not code for any protein sequence, rather this function as an enzyme. We all know that the cells have ribosomes inside it which helps in the synthesis of proteins. The rRNA is a major constituent which helps in the formation of ribosomes. In the ribosomes the function of the rRNA is of an enzyme known as ribozyme and it helps in the synthesis of the proteins.

So, we can say that the rRNA is associated with ribosomes in protein synthesis.

As we discussed about the types of RNA, the other types of RNA except rRNA are tRNA, mRNA. The tRNA stands for transfer RNA and the mRNA stands for messenger RNA. The mRNA helps in bringing the genetic code to the ribosomes where it can be translated into protein sequences and the tRNA is responsible for bringing the amino acids into the ribosomes.
