Hint: This is a simple question from simple arithmetic. First, we have to calculate the total words typed by Rita. Then by applying elementary methods we will calculate words typed by Rita at the same time as taken by Geeta. Thus we can easily compute the time taken by Geeta.

Complete step-by-step answer:
As given in the question Rita can type $48$words in 1 minutes.
So, Rita can type total words in the time of 24 minutes will be,
  =24 $ \times $ 40 words.
= 960 words.
Thus Rita can type a total 960 words. So, that document is having 960 words.
Now, the time taken by Geeta to type the same document having 960 words is t minutes.
Then,
Words typed in 1 minute $ \times $ time t = 960
$ \Rightarrow $ 48 $ \times $ t = 960
We will simplify the above expression, dividing 960 by 48 , as follows
t = $\dfrac{{960}}{{48}}$
$ \Rightarrow t = 20$
$\therefore $ The time required by Geeta to type the same document will be 20 minutes.

Thus, the final answer will be twenty minutes.

Note: In this question, Geeta and Rita are two different people with different typing speed. We had computed the time required by Geeta to do the same work as done by Rita. So, it is a problem related with the time – and –work type. Obviously, we can apply the equality method here to equate the typed words in the given time and hence find the other value at the same time. Such question ratio and proportion is also helpful. Also, simple arithmetic based computations are playing an important role to get the correct solution.
