Hint:--Malaria is a disease caused by protozoan named plasmodium. Different species of plasmodium which attack humans are plasmodium vivax, plasmodium malariae ,plasmodium ovale and plasmodium falciparum.
Complete answer:
Plasmodium is an endoparasite, blood parasite, intracellular parasite, pathogenic parasite and digenetic parasite.Carrier or vector is female anapheles.Asexual cycle is passed in men by a process term schizogony(occurs in liver and RBCs).when an infected female anapheles bites a human to suck blood it also injects the malarial parasite into the human blood with its saliva the infective stage of plasmodium is a minute Sickle shaped sporozoite.sporozoites are inoculated in thousands into the human blood in about half an hour the sporozoites disappear from the bloodstream and enter the parenchymatous cell of the liver to escape from phagocytic White Blood corpuscles and multiplied their own number and undergoes many stage of developments. The parasite initially multiplied within the liver cell and then attacked the red blood cell resulting in their rupture. The rupture of RBC is associated with the release of toxic substance hemozoin which is responsible for the chill and high fever recurring every 3 to 4 days.
Types of malaria and their causative agents are:-Tertian malaria-P.vivax,benign tertian malaria-P.vivax,Ovale malariae-P.ovale,cerebral malaria-P.falciparum,Quartan malaria-Malariae, Quotidian malaria-Mixed infection.
So from the above information the correct answer is (D).
Note:- Quinine is the oldest drug for malaria extracted from the bark of Cinchona tree.Gambusia fish is introduced in ponds and lake that feed on mosquito larvae. Most dangerous type of malaria is P.falciparum infection also causes black water fever.
