Hint Molecular compounds also known by the name of covalent compounds. Ionic compounds and molecular compounds differ in many properties because there is a difference in the internal bonding of atoms present in the molecule.

Some important points regarding ionic compounds are as follow:
-As the name suggested that ionic compounds are formed through the ionic bonding between two oppositely charged ions.
-Ionic bonds are formed due to high force of attraction.
-Boiling point of ionic compounds is high.
-Melting point of ionic compounds is high due to strong attraction.
-Ionic compounds in the molten state are good conductors of electricity due to the presence of charged ions in it.
-Ionic compounds are easily soluble in water as after breakdown it will be converted into cations and anions.
-Ionic compounds are generally present in the solid state and it is hard and brittle in nature.

-Covalent compounds are not easily soluble in water as after breakdown it is not sure that it will convert into cations and anions.
-Covalent compounds when present in the solid state are hard in nature.

Note: Here some of you think that why ionic bond is stronger than covalent bond, so the reason is that in ionic bond a greater attraction force is present which is not present in the covalent bonds.
