India has a Council of Ministers which has around 50-60 members. From these members 15-20 members are appointed as the Cabinet Ministers and they form the Cabinet. The Prime Minister being the head of the ruling party and of the Council of Ministers, is also the head of the Cabinet.
The Prime Minister himself is appointed by the President. The Cabinet is also appointed by the President, but it is only done by the advice and recommendations by the Prime Minister. Thus, we can say that the Cabinet cannot exist without the Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister is also a connecting link between the President and the Cabinet. Under the Article 78 of the Indian Constitution –
It is the constitutional obligation of the Prime Minister to communicate to the President all the decisions of the Cabinet relating to the affairs of the Union or even proposals for legislation.
The Prime Minister has to submit to the President for consideration, all the matters on which the Cabinet is taking decisions.
The Prime Minister is also required to furnish the information related to the administration of the Union or proposals for legislations, whenever the President asks for it.

The current and the 14th Prime Minister of India is Narendra Modi. The current and also the 14th President of India is Ram Nath Kovind. In the current Cabinet of India there are 25 members including the Prime Minister of India.
