Subject- Sudden ban on currency notes by the Government of India
Sir,
I would like to draw attention towards the recent sudden ban on the currency notes by our government. There has been absolute chaos all over the country about this news. As many people are still in possession of cash that is no longer legal tender, their daily lives are getting affected and they are unable to obtain necessities. The poor people are not understanding the things since many of them are illiterate and are confused by the whole procedure.
The Government of our country wants everything to be digitalised but they also fail to understand that rural people are unable to understand what digitised means and many of them even do not have smart phones and internet connections, Government should understand this or could have taken steps before announcing ban on Indian currency. However, urban people are still able to understand a little, but they also face little challenges because people are being given Rs.2,000 notes when they go to a bank. This does not solve their problem. People have Rs.2,000 notes now, but others don’t have change to give them! Instead of giving heavy denomination the government should have dispatched the small denominations so that people can easily accept the notes.
Thank You
Yours sincerely,
Rohan Midha
