Punjab is a state in the Northern part of India with shared borders with states like Jammu and Kashmir in the north, Himachal Pradesh to the north and northeast, Haryana to the south and southeast and Rajasthan to its southwest. The state has an area of about 50,362 square kilometers making it the 20th largest Indian state.
