Hint:Explain about the importance of water in general and then explain the process that plants go through when there is a scarcity of water. See each option and choose the one that fits.
Complete answer:
The lack or scarcity of water in plants leads to water stress, at this time the plants wilt, this is because there is a pressure that keeps the plant erect and inflated, it is known as turgor pressure. This turgor pressure is lost because of water stress. As the scarcity of water increases the plant cells completely deflates causing them to die. A major process through which it creates its own food is known as photosynthesis, water stress affects the plants ability to produce its own food by reducing photosynthesis. We all know that water moves through our body in a similar fashion the water moves or travels through the plants as well. This travelling of water in the plants helps in delivering vital minerals and nutrients to various different areas of the plant. As we respirate the plants respiration as well what we give out as carbon dioxide the plants absorb this carbon dioxide and give back the oxygen which we consume. With low water levels there would be a reduction in plants ability to photosynthesis, this causes delayed growth and weak nature of plants as well.
Option “4” is correct.
Note:Here we need to explain each process that is happening inside the plants and how the availability of water is related with the development of each process, also explain about the death of a plant in case of water scarcity.
