Hint: Passage cells are those endodermal cells of older roots are they have retained thin walls and Casparian strips due to which they become suberized and waterproof like all the cells which are around them, they continue and they allow some symplastic flow towards inside.
Complete answer:
Monocot root: - Fibrous root system which originates from the area of the plant other than those of the existing roots it is known as adventitious root system. In monocot roots it consists of xylem and phloem and it is covered by the cortex and it consists of parenchyma cells.
Monocot stem: - Monocot stem are those which have vascular bundles near the outer coverage of stem. Vascular bundles are those tissues which are distributed in parenchymatous ground tissues. They do not have any pith region in case of monocot stem. Whereas, dicot stems do have them.
Aerial root: - It is the root which originates from the place where the plant is above the surface of earth or water, as in case of stem. For instance, in case of orchids they have aerial roots, as they are grown from the stems and absorbed water which is directly from the air which the plant receives.
Dicot stem:- In case of dicot stem, vascular bundles are arranged in the form of a ring, and the pith is situated at the core of the stem, and it is scattered in the plant interior. In the dicot stem, each bundle’s xylem and phloem are divided by vascular cambium.
Hence, The correct answer is option (A).
Note: They are found in monocot root, which is the unthickened cell which is situated in endodermis of root, opposing the protoxylem element, which helps in diffusing the solution in the different directions.
