Hint: To measure the ozone present in the atmosphere, spectrophotometer, a substance which absorbs the light by measuring the intensity of light when the beam of the light is passed through that very solution.

Complete step by step solution:
-Ozone is a triatomic molecule of oxygen and is formed by the reaction of the oxygen molecule with nascent oxygen present in the air. It is present in the atmosphere in the form of a layer which is known as the ozone layer and this layer exists in the stratosphere about 20 km away from the surface of the earth.
-Ozone present in the atmosphere is measured with the help of Dobson’s spectrophotometer( a spectrophotometer is a device which works on the principle that how much light is absorbed by the substance and each substance emits/absorbs the light at a particular wavelength) and is measured in Dobson units (DU). It is a ground instrument and is in the form of the column and in this, the ozone is measured by the technique of the differential absorption of the ultra-violet rays of the sun as a source of light and then, by comparing their intensities at wavelengths which are strongly absorbed and weakly absorbed, ozone content of the atmosphere can be easily determined.

Note: Ozone acts as a protective shield for us to protect us from the harmful ultraviolet radiations of the sun which are very harmful to us and can cause various skin diseases such as skin cancer etc. and has many ill-effects on the health too.
