Hint: The trophic level is the position where an organism occupies in the food chain. known as the base of the ecosystem is known as the first trophic level and has the highest energy concentration which is transferred to the organisms at different trophic levels.

Complete answer:
Ecological pyramid is a graphic representation which indicates the relationship between organisms at each different trophic level. They are of three different types: pyramid of numbers, pyramid of energy and pyramid of biomass. The number of organisms at each trophic level is represented by a pyramid of numbers. It is usually upright except in cases of detritus food chain.
Pyramid of energy is the only type of ecological pyramid, where energy flow in a food chain is always unidirectional and with every increasing trophic level some energy is lost into the environment. So the pyramid of energy is always upright. The number of individuals usually decreases from producer level to consumer level in an ecological pyramid.
In this particular type of ecological pyramid i.e. pyramid of biomass, each level takes into account the amount of biomass produced by each trophic level. It is also upright except in oceans where large numbers of zooplanktons are dependent on a relatively smaller number of phytoplankton.

So the correct answer is Option D.

Notes:
Ecological pyramid was represented by G. Evelyn Hutchinson and Raymond Lindeman. There are different levels in an ecosystem namely
1. Producers
2. Primary Consumers
3. Secondary Consumers
4. Tertiary Consumers
5. Top Predators
