Hint: It is also known as cardiac output that is related to the volume of blood pumped by each ventricle.
Complete Answer:
Output of the blood refers to the cardiac output which also known as heart output describes the volume of blood being pumped by the heart every minute. A normal output of blood is always residing in a healthy heart in which about 5 to 6 liters of blood pumps out every minute when a person is in a rest mode.
Cardiac output of blood by the heart is calculated by multiplying the stroke volume by heart rate. Stroke volume is defined as the volume of blood which is pumped out from the left ventricle of the heart per beat. Heart rate is the number of times the heart gets contracted in a particular span of time.
During exercise, the body needs three or four times the normal cardiac output because muscles need more oxygen when a person does exercise. So, at the time of exercise the body needs higher cardiac output so that more blood could enter the body. In general, the heart beats faster and stronger to increase the cardiac output during exercise.
Hence, normal output of blood by the heart every minute is 5 to 6 liters.
Note: For the body to function properly, the heart needs to pump blood at a sufficient rate to maintain an adequate and continuous supply of oxygen and other nutrients to the brain and other important parts of the body. It is very much important to maintain cardiac output because it keeps the blood-pressure level maintained.
