1. Assam
 The coffee board of India and the soil conservation department together took the industries to engage the tribal people of north eastern states in coffee cultivation. Their mission was to cease soil erosion by planting big shade trees and to stop jhumming. The output in this state is less, but the quality of the coffee is unusual and mildly acidic in nature.

2. Tamil Nadu
 Tamil Nadu is an important coffee producing state and accounts for more than 5% of the total coffee generated in the country. Arabica Coffee forms the major part of the total coffee produced in the state and Robusta Coffee is also produced by the state.
