It was decided to conduct congress sessions in different regions in order to reach all regions. The president of the session belonged to another region than the region where the session was conducted. The First session was conducted in Mumbai under president ship of W.C Banerjee in 1885. The next session was held at Calcutta in 1886. The President was Dadabhai Naoroji. The Indian National Congress sessions are held at the gap of one year. It was formed with an objective of promoting and developing Anti-colonialist ideology. It also aimed to inform people about exploitative policies and their basic rights. Also planned to form and project different political and economic programs.
