- Streptokinase (SK) is an enzyme and a thrombolytic drug. Streptococcus bacteria are the source of streptokinase. In some types of myocardial infarction (heart attack), pulmonary embolism and thromboembolism, the procedure is used as a drug against disruption of clots.
