Hint: Excretion is the process by which the metabolic waste is eliminated out of the body. Plants respire and photosynthesis. They excrete oxygen as the waste product when photosynthesis takes place and carbon dioxide as the waste product when respiration takes place.
Complete answer:
To solve the given question, we must be aware of the excretion in plants.
The two main excretory components are the oxygen and the carbon dioxide. Apart from these there are several other products which the plant excretes.
Water is one of them. In many herbaceous plants tiny water droplets are seen on the margins of the leaves during night or early in the morning. This process is known as guttation. Guttation is the process which is known to take place in humid weather where the days are warm and the nights are cool.
Guttation takes place when the rate of transpiration is very slow as compared to the rate of absorption of water from the roots. Due to this difference in the transpiration and the absorption rates, water oozes out from the nerve endings through special pores. These pores are known as hydathodes.
The water lost through guttation consists of salts, sugar, aspartic acid and asparagine.
Apart from water substances like gums, oil, resins and latex are also excreted out from the plant as waste products.
Note: Here it must be noted that latex is a milky fluid which is secreted from the plants. It comprises protein, alkaloids, resins, tannins etc. Resin is produced from special resin cells. They ooze out from the plant when the plant is injured. They protect the plant from the invasion of insects and other pathogens.
