The rhinovirus is the main cause of common cold in humans. The rhinovirus infection takes place in the temperature ranges from 91°-95° Fahrenheit and it is the temperature commonly found in the nose. The rhinovirus comes under the genus Enterovirus. They are the smallest viruses with a diameter of about 30 nm and they are lytic. The rhinovirus can be transmitted by the two methods: by the drizzle of the respiratory droplets and the direct person to person contact or from the contaminated surface. It is a globally distributed virus and the symptoms are sneezing, running nose, sore throat, cough and sometimes accompanied by the muscle pain, headache, loss of appetite etc.
   For the entry of the rhinovirus in the human body they normally follow the path of upper respiratory tracts which includes mouth and nose. The infection of the rhinovirus starts working in about 15 minutes after when they land on the surface of the respiratory tracts. The rhinovirus that affects humans can grow at about 32° Celsius. The rhinovirus is composed of single-stranded RNA. The rhinovirus is most communicable during the winter and autumn period.
