Hint:Euglena is defined as a unicellular eukaryotic organism. The cell body is elongated and uninucleated that is characteristic of having one nucleus. The cell wall is usually absent in them. Instead, a proteinaceous layer is surrounded in them which is known as pellicle. The pellicle is made up of overlapping and interlocking strips that are wrapped around the cell in a spiral manner.
Complete answer:
Cell organelles remain covered in a cell membrane which defines the structure of the cell. There are mainly two kinds of cells and they are prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells in both of them a semi-fluid matrix which is known as cytoplasm occupies the volume of the cell.
In both plant and animal cells including euglena cytoplasm is considered as the main arena of all the cellular activity. Various chemical activities take place in it to keep the cell in the living state. Almost 80% of the cytoplasm is made up of water.
It also has dissolved carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. The space between the cell membrane and the nucleus is covered by the cytoplasm. In eukaryotic cells, the cytoplasm is composed of various cell organelles that help in the normal functioning of the cells.
These cell organelles are mainly named as Endoplasmic reticulum, Golgi bodies, lysosomes, mitochondria, nucleus in animal cells and in plant cell vacuole and chloroplasts are also present. But chloroplast is the only structure present in both kinds of cells.
Note:Chloroplasts are considered and observed as the site of photosynthesis in eukaryotic cells. They are chiefly present only in photosynthetic cells like plant cells and algae. No chloroplasts are found in animal or bacterial cells.
