Hint: A habitat is the type of natural environment in which a particular species of organism lives. A species's habitat is that place where the species can find its own food, shelter, protection and mates for reproduction. In general, Habitat is characterized by both physical and biological features.

Complete Answer:
Terrestrial habitats are those habitats that are found on land, like forests, grasslands, deserts, shorelines, and wetlands.
In general, the term Terrestrial Habitat also includes man made habitats, like farms, towns, and cities, and the habitats that are under the earth, like caves and mines.

Types of Terrestrial habitat
The adaptation of Terrestrial animals are dependent on the surrounding atmosphere and the conditions in which they live.
Broadly, terrestrial habitats are divided in four major categories.
Four types of Habitat are forest, grassland and desert.

Let us understand three of them.
Forest: Generally, Forests provide habitat for most of the species of animals, plants, and microorganisms. This is in a wide range when seen in case of tropical rainforests. They serve as a protective shield for a number of an discovered species which are still safe in those forests.
Grasslands: Grasslands are the places that receive more rain than deserts but less precipitation than forests. Most of the plants here are grasses, which don't need so much water like the ones of forest vegetation. Grasslands are usually found in the dry interior of continents, between the mountains and deserts.
Dessert: Even though deserts don’t get much rain, the desert is a habitat for some plants and animals. Each species which is residing there has adapted to be able to live in a range of temperatures and without much water. Temperatures in hot deserts can be up to 40-45°C, and it cools down a lot at nights when the sun sets. It can even get as cold as 0°C at some times during the year. In cold deserts the average lowest temperatures can be well below 0°C.

Note: There is a great biodiversity in the various regions of the world. Species are gifted by the quality of adaptability to survive in the type of environment they live. Different types of species live in a different type of habitat and make this earth a beautiful place to live in together.
