Hint :The moon and stars are very distant objects and seems to be that they stay at one spot and often observe that the moon follows you when you are travelling by car and also apply the concepts of relative velocity.
Complete Step By Step Answer:
Relative velocity can be defined as the velocity of an object relative to some other object which can be stationary, moving slowly or moving with the same velocity or moving with higher velocity or which is moving in the opposite direction.
As given in the given question which states that as the distance from the car increases the relative speed of the trees and building as perceived by the eye decreases. So, when the near objects are moving faster backward than the far object relative to the car and therefore, there is relative speed between the near object and the far object.
Hence, our brain interprets the relative velocity as the far object going in the direction of the car and the near objects in the opposite direction.
Hence when you are moving in a car from one place to another and forms an angle and views the moon and which seems to remain in the same place.
Note :
Number of scientists took part in finding the speed of light in any direction. The Michelson Morley’s experiment failed to show that any difference in the speed of the light in any direction and Einstein took the result of this experiment as the proof that the speed of the light which is constant with any frame of the reference.
