Hint: The Gandhi-Irwin Pact was instrumental in the revival of the Congress and the ending of the Salt March (Dandi March). Also, it was the first occasion of dialogue between the British and Mahatma Gandhi after the non-Cooperation movement of 1921.

Complete Step by Step answer: The main provisions of the Gandhi-Irwin Pact were as follows:
1. The political prisoners were to be released, except the ones who were found guilty of violence during the protests.
2. All the ordinances were to be withdrawn and the prosecutions were to be ended.
3. The protests were to be allowed, only if they were peaceful in nature.
4. The properties of the activists were to be restored as they were before the protests.
5. The salt manufacturing was to be allowed, only by the people residing near the sea-coast.
6. The ban on the Indian National Congress was to be lifted.

Note: Lord Irwin, who was the Viceroy of India and Mahatma Gandhi were also involved in the Poona Pact of 1930, which had nothing to do with the Gandhi Irwin Pact. It is because the Poona Pact was a Bipartite agreement between the upper caste leaders of the Indian National Congress and the Dalit leader Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar which led to the reservation of seats in the Indian Legislature for the Dalits. The British were only an observer in the Poona Pact and not any party as a whole.
