Complete answer:
The term wildlife refers to all those organisms that live or grow in the areas that are not introduced by humans or that are formed naturally without the interference of humans. So, as per the meaning of wildlife, we can find wildlife organisms in various types of natural ecosystems like forests, rainforests, deserts, grasslands, plains, etc. Though in the present time, much of the wildlife is affected by human activities but traditionally, the term indicates to those animals or organisms that are truly untouched by humans. Wildlife is important to us in many aspects; some of those have been discussed below –
- Wildlife animals play an important role in maintaining the natural balance of biodiversity by actively participating in the food chains and food web. Here, herbivorous animals control the growth of unusual vegetation by feeding upon them, and in turn, the carnivorous animals also control the growth of herbivorous animals by eating them. Due to these interrelationships, the population of each type of organism is under control and our environment is stable.
- From an economic point of view, wildlife is also important because we get many such products that can’t be made artificially. Wood is one such example. Besides wood, many other useful products include lac, silk, medicines, meat, etc.
- Nowadays, tourism has become a great industry and wildlife has great importance in this field.
- Wildlife is also important in the field of experiments because the organisms are often treated as an object under observation in various experiments and after being sure about the results, these practices are used for the welfare of human beings.
Note: Simply, wildlife means the life in which humans have not made any interference and that’s why they are wild. Those organisms that have been developed under the influence of humans are called domestic animals. Though we can get many required products from domestic animals also but nature is balanced just because of wildlife.
